Deputy Saydie Hammonds, along with Deputy Kaleb Hopson, with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, was patrolling the area of County Roads 153 and 235 when Hammonds observed a silver Kia Soul driving with no license plate light. After contact was made with the driver, identified as Kimberly Diane Mayfield, Mayfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.
In other incidents involving the sheriff’s office:
• Corporal Taylor Fletcher contacted a vehicle for a parking violation on CR 257 at Ten Mile Crossing. The driver, Kevin Ferreiro, and passenger, Amber Barrow, were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance after less one gram of methamephetamine was found in a baggie in plain view in the driver’s side door handle. A glass meth pipe was found in the center console. Barrow attempted to dispose of a second pipe while in the patrol car, which led to an additional charge of tampering with/fabricating physical evidence.
• Deputy Marvin Simpson responded to Belfast in regards to a disorderly subject. After investigating the incident, Charles David Wayne Holland was arrested for assaulting his step-father, brother and mother. Charles was charged with three counts of assault causing bodily injury-family violence.
