Officer Andres Contreras with the Early Police Department stopped a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe in the Allsup’s parking lot Thursday for expired registration. Once Contreras made contact, he smelled an odor of marijuana. Contreras removed the passengers from the vehicle to begin a search. While opening the driver’s door, a handgun fell from inside the vehicle that the driver placed between the door and seat.

After searching further, officers located methamphetamines and marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, Joshua Kevin Davis, from Pasadena, Texas is a convicted felon and was charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, possession of marijuana in a drug free zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration. The passenger, Victoria Elizabeth Bass, also from Pasadena, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
