Two people in a pickup were removed from the mangled wreckage of a two vehicle wreck that happened Monday evening in Brown County.   According to the Early Fire Department, the wreck involved an SUV and pickup and happened on Highway 183/84 at County Road 270 at approximately 6:30 pm.

Firemen arrived to find the driver of the SUV out of the vehicle but the occupants of the pickup were still trapped inside.  The Jaws of Life device was used to free the trapped occupants.  Lifeguard EMS provided patient care until two Air Evac helicopters landed on the highway.  According to Early Fire Department, one patient was flown to Scott and White Hospital in Temple.  The other was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.  The extent of their injuries was unknown.  The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Others assisting at the scene were Zephyr VFD, Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Early Police Department, Department of Public Safety and Welch Bros Towing.
