The 5 takeaways from the Mavs’ 109-106 victory over the Nuggets

1.SHOW OF HANDS: OK, let’s have an honest show of hands from those who saw this win by the Mavs coming. With the Mavs in Denver and fresh off Sunday’s disappointing loss at home to Portland, I’m sure there probably weren’t many who thought they would go into Denver and knock off the mighty Nuggets. The previously unbeaten Nuggets. The Nuggets who were the Western Conference’s No. 2 seed last season and who are stacked to the rafters with so much talent that their second unit could probably suit up and beat a lot of team’s first unit on a […]

What is sure is that the Mavs rallied from an 11-point deficit to run their record to 3-1 thanks to a 109-106 victory over the Nuggets on Tuesday […]

“He’s doing great — I’m talking to him constantly,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “He’s been a great influence on the team even though he has not been playing, and he’s ready.”

Barea underwent surgery on Jan. 14 to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon. The injury occurred during a Jan. 11 game at Minnesota, and the rehabilitation process has been long and tedious.

“It’s something different,” Barea said. “It’s like learning how to walk […]
