His name is Mike Corley, but you know him as the Radio Chief on KOXE, who now hosts the Saturday Night Oldies show every Saturday from 7-10 pm on our AM station, KBWD. In 2016, Mike retired from the Brownwood Police Department after 42 years in law enforcement. At the time of his retirement, he was the police chief for Brownwood PD.

Mike has always had an interest in music and is an avid music collector. During his early days on the Midland PD, while working the night shift, he would stop by the local radio station and visit with the DJs. Also, Mike and his wife, Sheryl, owned a DJ business for over 20 years. But his dream was always to be a DJ on the radio.

After he retired from law enforcement in 2016, Mike fulfilled a childhood dream and started working as a DJ on Saturdays at KOXE. After being on the air for a while, a KOXE listener gave Mike his nickname of Radio Chief, and it stuck.

Mike has been married to Sheryl for over 45 years. They have one son and three grandsons. Mike & Sheryl also run a small sheep farm in Brown County.
