Sheriff’s Department Incident and Arrest Report

The following calls for service were answered by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

On January 14, Deputy Toby Mathis responded to the 5000 block of Healer Lane in Brownwood.  This was for a report of violence.  A woman had called to report her brother had assaulted her.  It was determined that another woman was another possible victim of assault from the male subject.  A report was made.

On Thursday, January 2, at approximately 11:55 am, Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant on Briarcrest in Early.  This was in reference to a trespass warning being issued to ex-wife and current husband.

On January 9, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to an animal bite call.  He arrived on scene on County Road 381, Early, Texas, and determined the victim was bitten by a dog the previous night.  He gathered pertinent information to complete a report.  Deputy Smoot will do a follow-up pertaining to the quarantine of animal on January 18, 2020.

On January 10, 2020, Deputy Ashley Harris received information that on January 9, a known man made several silent phone calls to 911.  A report was made.

On Friday, January 10, at approximately 14:48, Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant on East in Brownwood.  This was in reference to an assault report and investigation.

On January 11, at about 10:55 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Salt Creek Drive in Early in regards to a burglary.  He spoke to a woman who stated someone had entered her vehicle and taken a laptop computer without her consent.

On Saturday, January 11, at approximately 13:22, Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant at County Road 551.  This was in reference to puppies being dumped at a property there.

On January 11, at approximately 14:20 hours, Deputy Ashley Harris made a traffic stop on a blue Nissan for expired registration.  This was at South U.S. Highway 377.  During a consent search, 0.3 grams of Methamphetamine was found.  The male passenger was arrested.

On January 11, deputies were dispatched to an address on County Road 281 in Zephyr.  This was in regards to a domestic disturbance.  After arriving on scene, deputies located a man lying on the driveway of his residence, barely awake, due to a high level of alcohol.  The man also had a head injury sustained during an altercation with another subject.  The man was taken by ambulance and then care flighted.  A report has been taken at this time.

On January 12, Deputy Ashley Harris responded to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a report of an accidental shooting which occurred in the County.  Victim had no life threatening injuries and a report was made.
