Carl Wayne is the Program Director and DJ at KOXE/KBWD. Carl started in radio in June of 1979 at KDWT in Stamford TX, and made his way to Brownwood in January of 2007. In 2008 Carl joined Dallas Huston in the booth, and has been the color commentator for Brownwood Lions football ever since. In addition to Lions football, Carl has been broadcasting Lady Lions Softball and Basketball for ten years and even calls Howard Payne sports games on occasions. When it comes to sports, Carl is a walking encyclopedia. He is full of sports knowledge and information, from local and area sports to the NFL and MLB. Join our resident “Ironman” on the air from 6AM to 7:30AM for the Carl and Company show, and then into the 8 o’clock hour where he plays the top hits and often interviews insightful guests from around the community. Carl then returns at 2 p.m. to take you through the rest of your work day. Be listening closely because Carl is known for his creative trivia and for giving away tons of great prizes!

A: “I WOULD LOVE TO BE THE STARTING CENTER FIELDER FOR THE TEXAS RANGERS. PUT ME IN COACH!”

A: “I WOULD GO BACK TO THE 1870’S – 1890’s ERA. I WOULD LOVE TO EXPERIENCE THE WILD WEST, THE EXPANSION OF THE RAILROAD, AND MAYBE STAY TO SEE US GO FROM HORSES TO CARS.”
