Lois Gay Haynes Wallace

Lois Gay Haynes Wallace of Coleman, Texas passed from this life February 10, 2019 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman.

Services will be February 14 at 10:30 am at the Trickham Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. Visitation will be February 13 from 5:30 p.m. unti 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

Lois Gay Haynes was born March 2, 1932 at home in the Mukewater, Cross Roads Community in Coleman County, Texas to Fred and Lola Ilene Bowden Haynes as a twin. Her twin sister Louise Ray Haynes was stillborn. Lois went to Mukewater school, Santa Anna grade school and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1950. She continued her education at Draughans Business College and worked 41 years as a secretary, bookkeeper and ATU auditor. She also worked in her husband’s print shop for five years. She was employed with the Department of Public Safety, Texas Hairdressers Association, City of Garland and retired from Texas Credit Union of Texas Instruments in 1992 as ATM auditor.

Lois met Frank Wallace in Abilene, Texas and they married December 20, 1951 in Trickham, Texas, celebrating 64 years of marriage. Frank preceded her in death in 2016. Three children were born to their union, Deborah Elaine, James Fred and Billy Edward. Lois was a member of the Trickham Union Church and Orchard Hills Baptist Church.

In 1992 upon retirement they moved to Santa Anna when she enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers, especially roses and she also helped with the cattle at Trickham.

She is survived by her 3 children Deborah & husband Malcolm Lansley of Katy, TX; James Fred Wallace of Chickasha, OK; Billy Wallace of Lake Whitney, TX; sister Reba & husband Elvis Cozart of Brownwood; 2 Brothers Jerry & wife Donna Haynes of Midland, TX; Billy Don Haynes of Brownwood, TX; 6 Grandchildren Michael Rader, Jeremy Rader, Nathan Wallace Grant, Aaron Wallace, Rania Nichole Wallace and Amber Dawn Wallace; 6 Great Grandchildren; 4 Step Grandchildren, 9 Step Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her twin sister, parents, daughters-in-law Darra Wallace & Beverly Wallace; Sister-in-law Carole Haynes.
