HPU to host Congreso Experience event on Jan. 25

Howard Payne University is pleased to welcome Hispanic Baptist leaders, pastors and students for Congreso Experience, organized by the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT). The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, on the HPU campus.

The meeting will feature workshops, group activities and a worship rally, all designed to encourage Hispanic students from 7th to 12th grades in their education and spiritual walk.

“We are excited to host Congreso Experience here at HPU,” said Dr. Cory Hines, HPU president. “Christ-centered education is a vital mission of our university, so we are grateful for opportunities such as this – to support and encourage students as they learn new ways to serve the Lord.”

The event’s featured speaker is David Natividad, (above) a 1998 HPU graduate and an education consultant based in San Angelo.

Worship will be led by Daniel Palacios, a 2016 HPU graduate who serves with youth at Clear Creek Community Church in League City.

Victor Rodriguez, evangelism associate/discipleship specialist for Hispanic evangelism for the BGCT, will lead sessions for pastors.

Sessions for youth workers will be led by Eric Hernandez, apologetics lead and millennial specialist for the BGCT.

Registration is for Congreso Experience free, but space is limited. Churches can register their students to attend at www.txcongreso.org.
