Emma Sue Guyer Cox, 88, of Coleman, passed away February 4, 2019 at the Coleman County Medical Center.
Services will be February 9 at 2 p.m. at Clear Creek Cemetery with burial to follow.
Emma was born August 5, 1930 in Bangs to John M. and Stella Storey Cox. She was raised in Bangs, graduating from Bangs High School. She continued her education at Daniel Baker College, Texas Tech University and graduated from East Texas University. On September 15, 1948, Emma married William Floyd Cox, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Emma lived in Seminole and Garland before returning to Bangs. She was a member of the Methodist church and was a retired first grade teacher.
Survivors:
Three sons – Russell and wife Neva Cox of Weatherford; Morris and wife Carmen Cox of Coleman and Dwight and wife Robyn Cod of Austin
Three sisters – Audrey Daily of Georgetown, Texas; Ruth Guyer of Arlington and Earlene and husband Raymond McFarland of Arlington
Six Grandchildren
Seven Great Grandchildren
Emma was preceded in death by her daughter Olivia Susan Morrow in 2007 and sister, Billie Winchester in 2015.
