A Masonic graveside funeral service for Don Ragan, age 91, of Early, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the St. John Cemetery in Priddy. The family will receive friends at Heartland Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Mr. Ragan died Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Jesse Don Ragan was born on September 11, 1927 in Paris to Jesse and Gertrude Louise (Owens) Ragan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Don married Jewel Grelle on April 1, 1965 in Muleshoe. They moved to Brownwood in 1972. Don worked as an chief electrician for several concrete plants in his career. He was a member of Brownwood Masonic Lodge #279.

Don is survived by a son, Jim Ragan of Marina, California, daughter, Rynn Mazur of Portland, Oregon, seven grandchildren and a sister, Kathryn Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Ragan in 2005 and a sister, Marion Wade.
