Cecil Williams

Cecil Williams was born on June 29, 1932 in Sudan, Texas to Sanford and Tennie Hamilton Williams. His family consisted of five brothers and two sisters that lived on a farm and ranch for many years until it was sold during his childhood. The family then moved to Goldthwaite, Texas where they operated a café and truck stop until it was sold due to Tennie’s health.

After serving in the US Army in Korea, he moved to Amarillo, Texas where he started working in retail sales and management. He was transferred throughout the country to Missouri, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama and Louisiana where he retired from Walmart after working in 31 stores.

He joined the Baptist church as a young man in Missouri. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Josephine Medellin; one sister, Minnie Rodgers of Lockhart, Texas; three sons, Andrew Bryan and his wife, Renee’ Bryan; Timothy Williams; Scott Williams and his wife, Christie Williams; two grandsons, Harrison Bryan and Taylor Williams; and two granddaughters, Kaitlan Bryan and Bailey Williams; and two great grand-children, Jasey Shumate and Owen Bryan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Bud Williams, AC Williams, Henry Williams, Ray Williams, Wayne Williams, and one sister, Katherine Adams. He really loved to keep genealogy records of all the family that covered relatives back to the fourteenth century. He will be greatly missed by all including his beloved dog, Do Dad, and his two old goats, Oaky and little Claire.

A viewing will be held for Cecil at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, 1415 Parker Street, Goldthwaite, TX 76844 on Thursday, January 10th from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Goldthwaite Cemetery.
