Brownwood Woman Arrested Friday on Drug Charges

On Friday, May 24, 2019, the Brownwood Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search/arrest warrant at a north Brownwood residence after an extended investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine.

According to a news release from Brownwood Assistant Police Chief, James Fuller, during the execution of the search warrant, over 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine was recovered from the residence.  Along with the suspected controlled substance, officials also recovered materials that were consistent with the distribution of illegal drugs.  Quantities of marijuana, alprazolam, and tramadol/acetamninophen were also recovered during the investigation.

At the conclusion of the investigation, 50-year-old Amy Beth Bailey, of Brownwood, was arrested.  Bailey was charged with the Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a drug free zone, Possession of a Controlled Substance (alprazolam & tramadol) in a drug free zone, and with the Possession of Marijuana.  The investigation surrounding this incident remains ongoing and more arrests may occur, Fuller said.
