Billy Wayne Smith, 81, of Brownwood formerly of Midland passed away February 4, 2019, at home.

Graveside services for Billy will be 1 p.m., Thursday, February 7, at Greenwood Cemetery in Midland with Delton Daniel officiating. A visitation has not been set. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Billy was born on May 24, 1937, to Arthur and Gertrude (Duke) Smith in Fouke, Arkansas. Billy married Jennifer Moore on August 8, 1981 in Rankin, Texas.

He worked in the oil & gas industry for 64 years. He loved working and had a strong work ethic. Billy was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church for 35 years and a current member of First Baptist Church of Lake Brownwood.

Billy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer Smith of Brownwood; 4 children, Melissa, Sara, Brad, and Stephanie; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharron Skinner; and brother, Buddy Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 8 siblings.
