‘Adult Bullies’ to be included in programs offered by TEEA clubs

All Brown County residents are cordially invited by The Brown County Extension Education clubs represented by the May, McDaniel and Owens communities to attend a free teach and learn program.  This event is designed to educate the public about Texas Extension Education Association (TEEA) in Brown County.  The mission of the Extension Education Association is to work with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to strengthen and enrich families through educational programs, leadership development and community service.

The program will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Early Chamber of Commerce meeting room located at 104 E Industrial Drive, in Early, TX.  Educational programs will be presented by club members who attended the State Convention in Plano in September and Extension faculty.  Program topics will include:

“Adult Bullies” – Learn how to identify an adult bully; assess to see if you are a bully or being bullied; understand the available options for coping with a bully.

“Navigating Pinterest” – Learn how to join and set up a profile; learn how to navigate and create titles; learn how to save a pin.

“Dementia and Caregiving” – Identify types of dementia; Identify selected risk factors for dementia; discuss options for diagnosis and treatment; describe strategies related to caregiving and dementia.

“Nutrition Myth or Fact” – Identify tell-tale signs of nutrition myths; identify reliable sources for nutrition information; describe evidence-based eating patterns.
