Kelley Jo Wellmaker, age 47, of Brownwood, Texas, departed this life on March 20, 2025, in Comanche, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will never be forgotten. She was born on February 12, 1978, in Abilene, Texas, to George Wellmaker and Clara May Tennison.

Kelley dedicated her life to helping others as a home health nurse for CenterWell Home Health around Brownwood, Texas. Her unwavering commitment to her patients exemplified the true meaning of caregiving, as she brought warmth, positivity, and kindness to everyone she encountered. Kelley was not only an exceptional nurse but also the heart and foundation of her family, always striving to keep them connected and uplifted. She shared an unbreakable bond with her mother, Clara, and they were best friends in every sense of the word.

She is survived by her mother, Clara Wellmaker of Rising Star, Tx; father & step mother, George and Patricia Wellmaker; forever love, Cody Allen; daughter, Kendra Allen; brother, George Wellmaker and wife Bettina – 3 children, Mazzy, Jazz & Mila; sister, Tina Wellmaker & children, Tommy and Rylee Gann, Clara and Rolando Castaneda; sister, Jaimie Bilbrey and husband Trey Bilbrey – 2 children, Emily Bultler and Jesse Bilbrey; sister, Jennifer Love and children, Lilly, Abby, Zoey, Kohl, and Ty Lasly; sister, Julie Cisneroz and husband Erik Cisneroz – children, Jailey, Jordann, and Erik Cisneroz; She was Lolly or La La to Tate Gann, MaeLeigh, and Maesyn Castaneda.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, CW and Mary Tennison; grandparents, Bonnie and Henry Wellmaker; niece, Layni Potter; and cousin, Ginger Wellmaker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 301 N Main Street, Cross Plains, Texas. The burial will follow the service at the Cross Plains Memorial Park in Cross Plains, Texas. The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, March 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. at Higginbotham Funeral Home located at 309 N E 4th Street, Cross Plains, Texas.
