Brownwood ISD shared the following information Monday:
This month’s spotlight teacher is Brooke Garrett. Ms. Garrett is a Life Academics Teacher at Coggin Elementary School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Science in Professional School Counseling, both from Angelo State University. She is certified in Core Subjects (EC-6), Special Education (EC-12), ESL Supplemental (EC-12), and School Counselor (EC-12). This is her 5th year with Brownwood ISD. Ms. Garrett was nominated by Penelope Putnam, a parent of one of her students.
Ms. Garrett is an exceptional Life Academics teacher. She creates a structured, supportive, and encouraging environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive. Her patience and dedication foster independence, confidence, and essential life skills that will serve students well beyond the classroom. Not only does she advocate for our students within the walls of Coggin, but she does so in the community helping lead the Challenger Division of Brownwood’s Little League. She consistently celebrates progress and truly believes in the potential of every student she teaches.
BISD is blessed to have inspiring teachers like Ms. Garrett, who go above and beyond to nurture growth and make a lasting difference in our students’ lives.
Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Danny Goins. Mr. Goins serves in the Brownwood ISD Maintenance Department and is a proud Brownwood High School alumnus (Class of 1984). With an impressive 32 years of service to BISD, Mr. Goins has proven himself a reliable and valued cornerstone of his department and the BISD family.
Mr. Goins has been a key member of the BISD maintenance team. He excels in maintaining equipment for day-to-day operations and showcases exceptional mechanical skills. He has an outstanding work ethic and is an invaluable asset to the department. Completing a wide variety of maintenance -related duties on a daily basis, he ensures that the district’s facilities run smoothly, providing quality support to our students and staff.
Brownwood ISD is grateful to have dedicated staff like Mr. Goins, whose long-term commitment an excellence continue to elevate the maintenance team and the district as a whole.
