The Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit hosted its 27th annual artist reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, February, 8, 2025. Eighty-two artists, from across the state, brought 275 pieces of art, 31 more than in 2024, to be considered for display with 129 of those being selected for the exhibit by juror, Tim Harding of Fort Worth.  Twenty of the entries were selected for awards earning prize money totaling $7,500.

The top award, the $1,000 Dorothy Mayes Best of Show Award, sponsored by Jane Ellen Jamar, was presented to Hollie Brown for her painting, Vessel of the Void. In describing the painting, Harding stated, “The complexity of the imagery and handling of paint I found to be exciting.  There is a mysterious quality to the subject matter that kept me returning to the work to investigate further.”
