The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Wednesday morning:
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Brownwood law enforcement received a 911 call from a citizen who observed a disturbance in the parking lot of Home 2 Suites, 401 E Commerce. The citizen observed a female yelling and hitting a male and then pulling a pistol out of her waistband and waving it around him.
When officers arrived in the area, they were able to determine a hotel room involved and then located the male victim and 35-year-old Alyssa Roann Chick of Fort Worth. Both individuals denied any problems had occurred and did not know why officers were present.
A review of the hotel’s security cameras captured the events just as witnessed by the caller. Chick was observed pushing and hitting the victim and pulling out a pistol from her waistband and pointing it at the victim. Chick was also observed pointing the pistol in the air and firing the weapon Eventually, the pistol was retrieved from Chick’s vehicle along with a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Chick was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault w/a Deadly Weapon, Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
