Alberta Clevenger Elliott, age 93, of Brady, Texas passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, in Brady, Texas. Alberta was born January 2, 1932, in Voca, Texas to Chester Clevenger and Eula Mae (Word) Clevenger. On May 7, 1951, she married the love of her life, Delmo Joseph Elliott, in Brownwood. They were married for 55 years and had three children, seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. For twenty-five years, she taught school and drove the school bus for the Mason I.S.D. She was an avid writer with two of her works put into the archives of the Library of Congress. One was “The Best Poets of the 20th Century”. The other is “The History of Texas.” She also has a poem that was published in the book “On the Wings of Eagles.” The thing she loved best was gardening, as it brought her great stress relief. She lived in the London area for many years, but upon the death of her husband in 2006, she moved to Brady. Eventually, she became resident of Brady West, where she became the President of the Resident Council. She would advocate for the residents and brought their concerns to the administration. She had a love for the Lord that she wanted to share and would pass out devotionals to anyone that wanted them. She was a member of the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ
