attachment_edited-2

Lesa Lynette Scott was born April 22, 1964, in Gainesville, Florida to Jim and Sheryal Brinson (both preceding her in death). Lesa passed away in Hendrick Medical Center, Brownwood, Texas early Saturday morning, January 10, 2025. She was 60.

On June 12, 1983, Lesa married David Scott in Copperas Cove, Texas, enjoying 41 years as a very happy Christian family. They ultimately settled in Mullin, Texas, residing there for some 33 years at her passing. She and David have one son, Larron (Waco).

Lesa was raised under the influence of Christianity, obeying the gospel early in life. She became exceptionally knowledgeable in God’s Word, sharing it freely with others, even with her care-givers in her hospital stays. She and David have been a joy and an asset to the Eastside Church of Christ in Mullin where they have worshiped these many years. It was a grief to Lesa that in the last several months, her declining health often hindered her gathering for worship. She became limited to simply “doing what she could,” as did Mary, the sister of Lazarus in Mark 14:8.

Lesa worked for many years in care-home facilities, caring for these elderly with a servant’s heart—they loved her and she loved her charge. She had an excellent voice, and cheered her “little people” with her singing and her unbelievable repertoire of gospel songs stored away in memory. She was a Proverbs 31 virtuous woman, easily loved, easily cherished.

Lesa is survived by her husband David and son Larron, and many others of the immediate family, as well as a great number of friends and loved ones. Through the years, she contributed so much to others’ lives, we can only remember her tenderly as a
godly woman who helped us live better. She was selfless. Her good influence has touched the hearts of brothers and sisters in Christ scattered across many states. She loved us all.
