Brownwood’s Madison Moseley has grown up competing at the Brown County Youth Fair with an immense level of success, and that good fortune continued Saturday afternoon as she was crowned 2025 Queen.
“I’ve grown up here my entire life, I’ve always exhibited livestock and now that this year has given me so much I’m hoping that I can go out and serve the community and also serve the Brown County Youth Fair and hopefully be a role model to some girls wanting to run for Brown County Youth Fair Queen,” Moseley said.
Along with being named Queen, Moseley was this year’s Overall Senior Grand Champion in Home Economics, earned Reserve Grand Champion Steer honors, and competed in the Market Swine division for the first time.
“I started with the Fashion Show and had some sewing projects, there was home economics with canning and cooking, I worked the ring when I wasn’t showing, then I exhibited my market hogs and I rounded it out with steers and the sale tonight,” Moseley said.

“I want to be a part of their livestock judging team, I love doing livestock judging and have done that my entire life,” Moseley said. “I also want to double major in Ag Business and Animal Science hopefully to become an ag lawyer.”
As for her fondest memories of taking part in the Youth Fair, Moseley said, “It’s the people and the welcoming atmosphere. It’s so positive and so encouraging. Some days you might not have the best day in the show ring but everybody still cheers you up and lifts you up.”
Regarding advice to girls who would like to follow in her footsteps and compete for Brown County Youth Fair Queen in the future, Moseley said, “Keep going, keep the dreams alive and push yourself to be the best you can be. Sometimes things might not go your way, but stand back up and keep going.”
Moseley also received a $1,500 scholarship as top membership seller, part of the requirements in the Queen contest.
Runner-up this year is Early’s Peyton Cockerham, daughter of Jason and Mitzi Cockerham.
