Arrests made at four illegal gambling businesses near Lake Brownwood

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued the following press release Monday morning:

Sheriff Vance Hill announced that on Friday, November 15, 2024, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, served search warrants on four illegal gambling businesses near Lake Brownwood on State Highway 279.

After an undercover operation revealed Texas law was being violated, search warrants were served on the Lucky Links Game Room, 777 Game Room, Friends Game Room, and the Lucky Ducky Game Room.

Multiple arrests were made for the charges of Gambling Promotion, Keeping a Gambling Place, and Possession of Gambling Device, Equipment, or Paraphernalia.

Additional charges filed from the execution of the warrants were Manufacture and Deliver of a Controlled Substance more than 4g and less than 200 grams (methamphetamine) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

The patrons were issued warning citations and released. The investigations are still ongoing, more arrests are expected.
