Jacqueline Sue McLaughlin, 85, of Blanket, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The family is holding a visitation at Heartland Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 10, 2024. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 11, 2024 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Blanket Cemetery to follow with Reverend John Seth officiating.
Jackie was born November 5, 1939 in Gorman, Texas to J.P. and Cora Kalene (Coker) Beaty. She attended school in Levelland, Texas and became mom to 3 boys. In 1988, Jackie married Albert McLaughlin and they merged seven children into a large happy family. Jackie worked for Higginbotham in Accounts Payable for over 30 years. Albert and Jackie traveled the United States throughout their marriage visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, Niagara Falls and getting great pictures of their journey’s. Jackie was very devoted to the Blanket Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was instrumental in getting Good Samaritan operating in Blanket helping over 17 families. Jackie served Good Samaritan over 20 years and absolutely loved spending time with the Blanket Methodist Church sisters. These ladies spent so much time traveling and spending the days together building bonds, friendships and great memories. Jackie was an avid reader who loved reading love stories, westerns, history books and a lot of cookbooks. She loved to cook the holiday meals at the church and to host her own family with great food and love.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Albert McLaughlin of Brownwood; sons, Brent McDonald and wife Kellie of Comanche, Greg McDonald of Zephyr, Lynn McDonald and wife Margaret of Tolar, Joe McLaughlin and wife Georgina of Cedar Park, Jason McLaughlin and wife, Roxanne of Early; daughters, Gena McLaughlin of Graham and Barbara McLaughlin of Kerens, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, J P Beaty and Cora Kalene Coker Beaty.
