One-vehicle weekend accident near Blanket Creek claims a life

The Texas Department of Public Safety shared information Monday afternoon on a one-vehicle fatal accident that took place at 11:28 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 on US Highway 67/377 at Blanket Creek.

A 2012 Peterbilt 337 tow truck, driven by 43-year-old Lucas Bentley Randall of Glen Rose, was traveling south on US 67/377, just past the Blanket Creek overpass, when it hydroplaned on the wet road. The driver over-corrected while skidding toward the median, causing the truck to veer west and overturn off the west side of the road.

Randall was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bryan Thompson.

According to the report, Randall was not wearing a seatbelt.
