Pauline M. Saucillo of Brownwood passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, at the age of 72 with her family by her side. Paula was born on February 9, 1952 in Brownwood to Geronimo Mindieta, Sr. and Dominga (Loredo) Mindieta.
Her family will host a visitation on Tuesday, November 5th from 6 to 7 PM at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, with Rosary to begin at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Wednesday, November 6th at St. Mary’s Queen of Peach Catholic Church in Brownwood with interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
Pauline had a beautiful soul and was a mother/grandmother, not only to her own family, but to anyone who met her. Despite her debilitating disease that she suffered from for 47 years, she managed to accomplish so much in life. She met the love of her life at the age of 16, Ramiro Saucillo, and the two were quickly married. They raised a family together until his untimely passing 26 years later. She continued raising their 3 sons and opened the Mexican Inn Restaurant which she ran successfully with her sister Onesima (Mary) Ramos for several years. At the same time, she returned to school and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse just to prove she could. She showed us that you can accomplish anything in life you set your mind to regardless of age or setbacks. Her determination and strength made her an inspiration to us all. Eventually her severe rheumatoid arthritis completely disabled her, crushing her body but never mind or spirit. She enjoyed many things including music (she loved Elvis), travelling, attending shows and concerts. She prided herself in her culinary knowledge and seamstress abilities, even creating an entire wedding dress for a friend. Her favorite color was purple and she loved elephants because of their loving nature towards their own herd. Above everything else, she loved her sons and family with all her being and devoted her life to them. So anytime anyone feels like giving up, remember Mrs. Paula. She proved that through God, all things are possible, no matter how hard times get.
We love you mom, and you will forever be missed.
Pauline is survived by her 3 sons, Ramiro J. Saucillo, Jr and wife Karen of May, TX, Rene C. Saucillo and wife Melissa of Brownwood, TX and Roberto A.
