Festival organizers from The City of Brownwood have announced today the full slate of family-friendly activities, activations, and local businesses that will be participating in the inaugural Feels Like Home Festival kicking off Saturday, October 19th with GA passes and VIP packages on sale at www.FeelsLikeHomeFest.com

From advanced activities like mechanical bull riding and axe throwing to family-friendly games like bull roping and giant Jenga, not to mention incredible music performances from the likes of Midland, Casey Donahew, Micky and The Motorcars, and a handful of homegrown Brownwood acts, the inaugural festival promises an entertainment-packed experience for guests of all ages.

Throughout the day-long event, fans can also explore immersive art installations as well as activations from sponsors including cornhole and giant pong from Beatbox; the United States Marine Corps’ battle position activation; and Hendricks Health’s hydration station, among many others.

While fans are gearing up for an action-packed Saturday at Feels Like Home Festival, officials from the City of Brownwood have also expanded the weekend’s event schedule to include a new Downtown Preview Night on Friday, October 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. CST.

All are welcome to join as two dozen local businesses work together to kick off the festival weekend by offering extended hours for evening shopping, plus refreshments, light bites, specials, and live local music.

“We are thrilled to see our community come together and rally in support of this new event. We are especially excited about the new Feels Like Home Festival activities for fans, plus the more than 20 local businesses that have signed up to extend the weekend fun with our new Downtown Preview Night on Friday evening,” said Mayor of Brownwood Stephen E. Haynes.

Debuting this October, Feels Like Home Festival will kick off soon at the brand-new Brownwood Event Center, a newly-renovated state-of-the-art outdoor music venue and multi-purpose event center that once served as a 1920s warehouse.

Laying the foundation for a long-lasting cultural celebration found each fall deep in the heart of Texas, fans can look forward to catching performances from Texas talent and nationally-renowned country music acts including Midland, Casey Donahew, Micky and the Motorcars, Tyler Halverson and Hudson Westbrook, alongside a handful of other local performers from across the Brownwood area.

The festival will also have the perfect cure of any fan’s hunger pangs onsite with a meticulously curated selection of craft barbecue joints from around the Lone Star State, including a Hill City Chop House, Pody’s BBQ, Olmos BBQ, Victorian’s Barbecue, and even Hurtado Barbecue, the latter of which is currently featured on Texas Monthly’s latest list of the “Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints”.
