Gary Edward Farley, 79

Born December 29, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by his father, Edward M. Farley and his mother, Gloria K. Farley and his wife, Barbara West Farley of 46 years.

Gary was raised in Mesquite, Texas where he graduated high school in/962. Went to North Texas State University on a track scholarship. Finished up at Abilene Christian College, Garland, Texas.

1965 Gary joined the United Sates Air Force as a combat medic. 1967 Gary married Cindy Farnzina and had a child, Glenn Edward Farley. Gary went to Southeast Asia in 1967 came home 1968. Gary Joined the Texas Department of Public Safety in 1969 as a State Trooper, then a private investigator, Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Darwin Odom, City police officer in Blanco, Texas, Chief of Police in Lometa, Texas and finally Deputy Sheriff in San Saba, Texas under Sheriff David Jenkins. Two of the finest men I know.

Barbara had two sons, Derek Baumgarden of Rockwall, Texas and Colonel Longstreet Brashier (Kernie) of San Antonio, Texas. We loved and raised all three boys as brothers. The boys had 7 children. Gary has a half sister, Aicia Ledoux of Kaufman County.

1978 Gary was raised of the sublime degree of a Master Mason in Mesquite, Texas and became a member of Goldthwaite Lodge #694 AF and AM and is a 32degree Mason. Gary was Worshipful Master 4 times and District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District number 70, 3
times. Gary received the Golden Trial Award from the Goldthwaite Lodge.

Gary developed congestive heart failure and was treated very well by the Veterans Administration.

Gary always loved the Center City Baptist Church and Dallas and Linda Huston and a memorial will be held there Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved riding motorcycles. Gary left us to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024.
