Santa Anna woman succumbs to auto accident injuries after hitting deer near Baird

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued the following press release regarding a one-vehicle accident that took place at 5:36 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 on US Highway 283, 13 miles south of Baird, that claimed a life.

Brandi Deann Ross, 37, of Santa Anna, perished after the 2010 Ford Fusion she was driving hit a deer while traveling south on US 283. The vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

Ross was transported to Hendrick Medical Center, but succumbed to her injuries at 12:42 p.m.

A 7-year-old passenger in the car was also transported to Hendrick Medical Center with minor injuries.

Road conditions were clear and dry, and the DPS reported stated neither person was wearing a seat belt.
