Brown County Elections Administrator Brenda Arp revealed Monday afternoon that three mail-in and provisional ballots were received for the May 28 Republican Primary runoff elections for Brown County Precinct 3 Commissioner and Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace, and those votes will not affect the final outcome.

Two votes went to David ‘Doc’ Reid, who finished with 346 votes in the Commissioner race, compared to the 342 of incumbent Wayne Shaw, who had been serving in his capacity since 2013.

The other vote went to Dustin Larremore in the JP race, as he finished with 138 while Mitchell Jacobson totaled 198 votes. Jacobson will take over the seat vacated by Doug Hurt in November 2023.

The votes will be officially canvassed and presented during the Brown County Commissioners Court meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, June 10. No Democratic challengers in either race for November will make these election results final.
