Stanley Wilson, 81, left this earthly world on March 8, 2024, to go home to the arms of his beloved Jesus. He leaves behind a rich legacy of giving and service in a ministry he was called to as a teenager.

Born in Fort Worth to parents, Cecil and Alma Seale Wilson, he spent his life on a modest farm in Tolar, TX, where he learned the value of hard work and an abiding faith.

Overcoming intense shyness, Stan came to realize the power of words, and he loved preaching, teaching Bible study, and public speaking. He also loved fast cars, RV travel, and Baylor Women’s basketball.

In a ministry of 60 years, Stan served as a Baptist and Presbyterian pastor and a hospital, prison and hospice chaplain. He was loved everywhere he went. He was particularly happy working with the Church Under the Bridge in Waco.

Stanley is survived by his wife and best friend, Betsy. They shared beloved children Cindy (Ernie) Koon, Cliff (Cozi) Wilson, JoAnna Conley, Jim Stone, Michael Stone, and Abbey (Jose) Esquivel.

He was blessed with grandchildren Brittany (Javi) Rodriguez, Amy Vazquez, Chayse Wilson, Kyle Esquivel, Albrecht Stone, and Camden Esquivel, plus great grandchildren Hunter Rodriguez and Zayden Vazquez; brothers, Steve (Allene) Wilson, Duane Wilson, and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wesley Wilson, grandson Colton Wilson and grandson-in-law Sergio Vazquez.

The family has entrusted Heartland Funeral & Cremations of Comanche with handling his services. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home from 1-2:00 p.m. Monday March 11th, 2024, followed at 2 p.m. in a service remembering and celebrating his life.
