Vance Neal Harms, age 95, of Teague, and formerly of Coleman County, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his residence.
Vance was born December 25, 1928, in Holder, Texas to Walter F. Harms and Florene Plummer Harms. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1950. Vance married Karan Eloyce Partrick on November 26, 1957, in Odessa, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher in the Glen Cove community from 1970 to 2020. Vance was a member of the Ballinger Masonic Lodge #643 for over 50 years and attended the First Christian Church in Ballinger.
Vance is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florene Harms; one son, Neal Dean Harms; one grandson, Kevin Green; four brothers, Johnny Harms, James Harms, Keneth Harms, and Mack Harms; and one sister, Evelyn Buttle.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Karan Partrick Harms; his daughter, Eloyce Newman; grandson Justin Harms; granddaughter Stacy Arnett and husband Jeremy; great-grandson Jensen Arnett; daughter in law Connie Harms; sister-in-law Zahndra and Don Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will host a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Glen Cove Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
