ames Neal Chesser, 66 of Zephyr passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. His family will host a visitation from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, December 1st at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral Services will be 10 AM on Saturday, December 2nd in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Democrat Cemetery.
James was born on December 11, 1956 in Brownwood to John and Joyce Chesser. He graduated from Brownwood High School. On March 17, 1990 James married Elisa Marie Stevens and they enjoyed a life together until her passing in 2021. James enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He worked for Caterpillar and Darr and Holt for a combined total of 39 years until his retirement. James loved his family time and grandchildren.
James is survived by his son Brandon Ballard of Zephyr; daughter Courtney Neal of Zephyr; 3 grandsons, Marshall Ballard of Stephenville, Tripp Ballard and Preston Neal of Zephyr; 4 granddaughters, Tymbyr Ballard of Zephyr, Haley Perez and husband Anthony of Honolulu, Caitlin Robinson of Port Neches and Kinley Neal of Zephyr; 3 great-grandsons, Joaquin Perez and Apollo Perez of Honolulu, Beckham Robinson of Port Neches.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elisa Chesser; parents, John and Joyce Chesser and brother John W. Chesser.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations can be made to Democrat Community Center.
