Karen Joan Stone passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father on October 2, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her son Randall Glenn Reed, her Father Elwin Glenn Hawthorne, mother Nelda Jean Bond Emerick, and sister Glenna Jean Brownlee. Karen was born in Brownwood, Texas and resided in New Braunfels, Texas.

She is survived by her Aunt Elwana Brewster of Andrews, Texas, Stepmother Julie Steele, siblings Glenn Little Hawthorne and wife Gwen of Clovis, New Mexico, Elizabeth Martin and husband Bryant, Cathy Marie Almand and husband Kyle of Brownwood, Carol Holt and husband William of Ft. Worth, TX. She had step siblings in her family, but to her, they are family which includes Bernadette and husband Charlie Hays, Barbara Vick Young of Brownwood, Edward and wife Gloria Sauer of St. George, Utah, and daughter in law Kimberly Reed of Brownwood. Grandchildren Brandon, Randall David, and Ashley Reed and husband Nicho Bookout of Waco, TX.

Karen had great grandchildren, cousins, and many nieces and nephews, and a special thank you to nephews Bennie Brownlee and Britt Brownlee for watching over Karen and tending to her care. A special thanks to Don Creager who has given his love and support to our family and for Karen.
