Shana was born August 19, 1982 in Brownwood, Texas to Ricky and Lynda Gilbreath.  She married Michael Powell on November 24, 2008 in Wichita Falls.  Shana grew up in Brownwood loving to be with her friends and family, in fact the two were one and the same to her.  She loved music, swimming, and backroading.  She loved helping others because she truly had a heart of gold and she would do anything for anyone.

However, nothing was more precious or more important to her than her two boys, Tristan and Christopher.  They were her reason, and what she lived and breathed for.

Her family and friends remember and honor Shana’s remarkable spirit.  Her journey through life was a testament to her unwavering courage and strength, even in the face of the most challenging circumstances.

Shana’s infectious laughter and quick wit could brighten even the darkest of days.  Her humor was a source of joy and comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.  She had an extraordinary ability to find light and laughter in the midst of adversity, reminding us all that even in our hardest moments, there’s room for a smile.

Shana’s remarkable courage in her battle with Leukemia was an inspiration to us all.  She faced each day with an unwavering determination to not let her illness define her.  Instead, she embraced life with a tenacity that left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.  Shana’s strength was a reminder that even in the most difficult times, we have the power to rise above and make the most of the moments we are given.

But it is the memories of the good times we shared with Shana that truly embody her spirit.  Her zest for life, her adventurous spirit, and her ability to create cherished memories are what will forever be etched in our hearts.  As we remember Shana, let us recall those moments of joy, laughter, and happiness that she brought into our lives.

Though Shana’s time with us was tragically cut short, her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.  Let us carry forward her courage, her humor, and her love for life as we navigate our own journeys.  Shana Powell will forever be a beacon of light, reminding us to cherish the good times, find strength in adversity, and embrace each day with the same unwavering spirit that she so beautifully embodied.
