Delbert Wayne Cummins, age 74, of May, passed away on July 25, 2023.

A visitation will take place Friday, July 28, from 5 to 7 PM and a funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 29, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Wayne was born to Ace and Leoma Cummins on July 30, 1948 in Post, Texas. He was raised in both Post and Lampasas, moving to Brownwood in January of 1978. On September 16, 1978, Wayne married his beautiful wife, Sue, in Brownwood. They were blessed with four children. Wayne served in the Navy and was later employed as a maintenance technician at Phillips Driscopipe, Superior Essex and Tejas. In 2000, the Cummins family moved out to May to enjoy the country life. Wayne was a faithful member of the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Jenny Martin and husband Eddie, Ernest Cummins and wife Kasey, Sheila Masters, Debra Hilton and wife April; grandchildren, Garrick, A.J., Chase, Zachary, Brady, Katy, Kylynn, Kholton, Sophie, Avery, Ashley, Emily, Shelby, Taylor, Allie, Tyler, Payton, Paige and Paisley; 11 great-grandchildren; aunt, Joann Elkins; sister-in-law, Joy Cole, as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Earnest Cole.
