Joy D. Breed, 65, of Blanket

Joy D. Breed, age 65 of Blanket, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Her family will host a visitation on Wednesday, July 19th from 6 to 8 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Graveside services will be 10 am on Thursday, July 20th at Blanket Cemetery, under direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Joy was born Friday, October 25, 1957 in Pampa, Texas to Arche and Joyce Jordan.  Joy’s name was a true fit, as she brought a lot of Joy to everyone in her life.  She attended school in Floydada, Texas.  Joy was blessed with twin girls, Meagan and Mandy.  She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and was a great seamstress.  Joy had a soft spot for her fury babies, and rescued many dogs throughout the years.  She worked for Dr. Green and Dr. Chandler for numerous years, in the medical billing department.  She enjoyed the patients she worked with and was very social.  Joy was the most hard headed person in Texas according to her family.  Most of all Joy loved, and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was looking forward to meeting the newest member of her family in September.

Joy is survived by her daughters, Meagan Davis and husband Ronnie of Blanket, Mandy Lyon and husband Doug of Early; brother Dean Jordan and wife Mery of Fort Lauderdale, Fl; 9 grandchildren, Chris Davis, Toni Davis, Stephenye Lyon, Meghan Davis, Rileigh Lyon, Tanner Lyon, Jaime Lyon, Brogan Davis and Allie Davis; 1 great granddaughter due to arrive September 2023, Roni Jean Mendoza; 3 nieces and 1 nephew; her fur baby Dixie; and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother James Edward Jordan.

Her family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Care Nursing and Rehab for all the wonderful care that they have showed Joy.

In Lieu of flowers family suggests that donations be made to: Carrine T. Smith Animal Shelter and the Brown County Humane Society.
