Dianna Purvis-Stover, age, 76 of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 301 N Main Street in Cross Plains, Texas. The burial will follow the service at the Blake Cemetery in Brown County, Texas.

The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home, 309 N E 4th Street in Cross Plains, Texas.

Dianna was born on March 23, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas to the late R.W. Purvis and Ruby Nell Riffe-Purvis. Dianna married her Jr. High Sweetheart and the love of her life Donald Reginald “Reggy” Stover on June 28, 1968, at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains, Texas, who preceded her on May 6, 2021. Dianna graduated from Cross Plains ISD in 1965 and graduated from Howard Payne University and began her teaching career at Cross Plains Independent School District. She taught and coached until she retired in 2005. She became Grandmommy and sometimes Grammy in 2003 and from that point forward her life became devoted to her 4 grandbabies whom she loved beyond words. She traveled to every basketball, volleyball, rodeo & cheer competitions all over the United States to be their biggest supporter.

Dianna never missed an opportunity to pour her amazing wisdom of God into every child she came in contact with. She was able to continue her love of teaching in children’s church and leading Vacation Bible School at several different churches. She is loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Dianna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Reggy Stover; son, Donald Reginal “Regin” Stover Jr; parents,

Dianna is survived by her daughter, Tonya Yeary and her husband, Toye of Cross Plains, Texas; son, Brandon Stover and his wife, Kimberly of Poolville, Texas; granddaughters, Trista Yeary, TyAnn Yeary, Kashley Stover; grandson, Tallon Yeary; sister, Linda Strength and husband, Charles of Cross Plains, Texas; sister-in-law, Vickie Strength and husband, Donald of Cross Plains, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
