In the Spring/Summer season finale for Glory-Potts-12u, explosive offense, solid pitching, and defense, paved the way for the team’s 3rd, 1st place finish of the season. The team was without Head Coach Kelcy Potts, Assistant Coach Robert Anders, and ace Lyla Potts due to a season ending injury. The team rallied behind their longtime teammate, Lyla, to earn a decisive victory over the Liberty Hill Panthers, 14-1. After dropping the 1st game of the day to the Panthers, Glory, battled scorching, 103+ temperatures, and a hard fought, extra inning game with Buzz-Serrato of Waco, to get a rematch in the championship game. After a scoreless first inning, Glory put up 6 runs in the 2nd, and 4 runs each, in the 3rd and 4th innings on 11 hits. Glory was lead by game MVP, Sunny Groom in the circle, allowing only 1hit, 1 run in route to the victory.
Sophia Ramirez lead the way with 3 hits in the game while Paisley Hill and Sunny Groom chipped in with 2 hits a piece. Emma Soto, Audrey Keas, Brooke Wright, and Lynlee Richmon contributed with 1 hit each in the game..
Over the two day tournament, Glory was lead offensively by Emma Soto and Avery Stifflemire batting .500 each, through 7 games combining for 16 hits. Other offensive leaders include Sunny Groom, Sophia Ramirez, Audrey Keas, Lynlee Richmon, Jamie Lyon, Reagan Fletcher, and Paisley Hill. Rounding out the pitching for the weekend were Sunny Groom recording 3 wins, Raegan Fletcher, and Paisley Hill, recording 1 win a each. Also supporting the pitching staff was Brooke Wright.
Glory-Potts finishes its 2023 Spring Season with a 35-13-2 record.
