Frances Clauda Wilson-Thornton, age 82 of Abilene, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at The Oaks at Radford Hills in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15 at 1:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains, Texas. A burial will follow the service at Clyde Cemetery in Clyde, Texas.
Frances was born on April 12, 1941, in Wellington, Texas to the late James Albert Wilson and Myrtle C. Sublet-Wilson. Frances married Donald Mac “Don” Thornton on April 12, 1958, in Clyde, Texas, they celebrated 53 years of marriage before he passed away on December 2, 2011, after a longtime battle with the aftereffects of Leukemia.
Frances was preceded in death in by her beloved husband, Don Thornton; parents, 8 brothers and sisters.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Gayla Lynn Thornton Trojcak and her husband, Bo of Abilene, Texas; son, Steve Leslie Thornton and his wife, Trenia of Abilene, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Kelly Russell and her husband, Ben of Abilene, Texas; Wade Trojcak and his wife, Mandy of Abilene, Texas; Tanya Brandon and husband, Kye of Abilene, Texas; Jerry Don Thornton and his wife, Lauryn of Clyde, Texas; Dakota Thornton and his wife Cameron of Clyde, Texas; Jacob Thornton and his wife, Carcin of Abilene, Texas; Reno Thornton and his wife, Jordan of Granbury, Texas; Coleton Mcquade and his wife, Anastasia of Abilene, Texas; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and dear friends.
