Brent Groom, age 70, of Brownwood, died May 2, 2023 at his home.

Brent was born on March 19, 1953 in Brownwood to Flora Mae (Miller) and Eddie Counts Groom. He attended Brownwood schools.  Brent retired from Howard Payne University as a carpenter in the maintenance department.  He attended St. John’s Anglican Church.  Brent enjoyed fishing, camping, and Bible study.

Brent is survived by his siblings, Dale Groom and wife Judy of Eustace, Lynda Ragan and husband Ron of Tyler, and Jeannie Ragsdale of Dallas; nephews Aaron Groom of Austin, Jeff Ragan of Tyler, and Chris Ragsdale of Hurst; nieces, Angie Groom of Eustace, Ashley Groom Keener and husband Matt of Victoria, Amy Ragsdale Lerma of Dallas, and Sossity Fair of Round Rock, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Judy Groom Fair.

Brent’s family will hold a private service at a later date.
