Brown County Commissioners Post Agenda for Monday Meeting

Brown County Commissioners Court will be in Session Monday, April 17, at 9:00 am in the County Courthouse, first floor. Agenda items are below.

I. DECLARE A QUORUM AND CALL MEETING TO ORDER
II. PRAYER – Pastor Ron Keener, North Lake Community Church.

III. CITIZENS COMMENTS: All speakers will be required to adhere to the rules of procedure, conduct and decorum adopted by the Court on August 12, 2019. Any disruptive, abusive, obscene, or disrespectful behavior will be terminated immediately. All Presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit. Multiple person groups will be limited to one speaker.

IV. MINUTES OF MEETINGS:
A. Approval of the Agenda Minutes from the previous regular meeting held on 04/10/2023.
V. TREASURER’S AND AUDITOR’S REPORT
A. Acceptance of Treasurer’s/Auditor’s Report.
VI. EMPLOYEE CHANGES:
A. Sheriff’s Department

VII. RESOLUTION AND PRESENTATIONS:
A. First Responder Recognition – Fred Bastardo, SRO, Brownwood High School, will be recognized as the outstanding first responder of the first quarter.

VIII. BUSINESS TO BE DISCUSSED AND CONSIDERED FOR APPROVAL:
A. Consideration and possible approval of county bank depository agreement.
B. Consider and take appropriate action on whether circumstances present in the unincorporated area of the county create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning and whether to institute a burn ban pursuant to Local Government Code §352.081.
C. Consideration and possible approval of action regarding the Salt Creek Estates Plat. This item will be presented by Levi Craft.
D. Consideration and possible approval of action authorizing Vance Hill to accept a donation on behalf of the Sheriffs Department.

IX. FINANCIAL
A. Payment of bills as presented by the County Auditor
B. Consider and take appropriate action regarding 2 new invoices from Black’s Plumbing for work on the Juvenile Center

X. EXECUTIVE SESSION -The Commissioner’s Court will convene into a closed executive session, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section: Section 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney

A. Agreement with the City of Brownwood for the renovation and use of 305 Booker.
XI. ACTION AS A RESULT OF THE EXECUTIVE SESSION
A. Consideration and possible approval of an agreement between Brown County and the City of Brownwood for the renovation of 805 Booker as a future location for the Brown County Health Department.
