The Early Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 3:56 pm Tuesday on County Road 372.

According to Early Fire Chief, Chad Hill, units arrived to discover a barn on fire with a house nearby.  Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by 4:53 pm.  The barn was a total loss.

According to Hill, the fire is still under investigation by County Fire Marshal Buddy Preston.

Other departments providing mutual aid were the Brownwood, Blanket and Zephyr Fire Departments along with Brown County Sheriff’s Office, AMR Ambulance Service, a Precinct 3 tanker and Zephyr Water Supply.
