Drug Bust in Eastland County – Fentanyl and Meth Confiscated

A major drug bust occurred in Eastland County. According to Eastland County Today, Tuesday at 1:30 am – Eastland County Deputy Sheriff Colby Jackson made a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Interstate 20.

The female driver was identified as Shauna Madrid, 36, from Roswell, New Mexico.

During the stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search Deputy Jackson located a hidden compartment in the floorboard of the vehicle. Inside the compartment was over 10 pounds of Methamphetamine and over 5 pounds of Fentanyl. The estimated street value is $577,000.

Madrid was arrested and booked into the Eastland County Jail for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Sheriff Weger commended Deputy Jackson saying “Fentanyl is one of the deadliest drugs facing our nation and communities. Deputy Jackson did an outstanding job of remaining vigilant and recognizing that he had a drug trafficker stopped. He was able to take thousands of lethal doses of drugs off the streets.”
