Texas A&M Forest Service, with assistance from local fire departments and Camp Bowie fire crews, have completed the prescribed burn at Camp Bowie. According to Darrell Johnston, Brown County Office of Emergency Management, they burned 1,200 acres on Monday and 800 yesterday, all on the north end of the base. You may still see a little smoke in the area for the next few days as some of the heavier vegetation smolders. The area will be monitored by the Camp Bowie personnel and Texas A&M Forest Service personnel. This concludes the annual burn.
