Shirley Ann Middleton, age 74, of Early, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home.

A visitation for Shirley will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday, February 20, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Funeral Services for Shirley will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church in San Angelo with a visitation an hour prior to services.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 2PM at Robstown Memorial Park in Robstown, Texas.

Shirley was born on February 4, 1949 to Ruth Alice and Vernon Lyle Prytz Sr. in Corpus Christi. She worked for GTE for many years until she retired in November of 2003. Shirley was an avid antique collector, and she could never pass up a good bargain. She also enjoyed traveling. Shirley was always dressed intricately from head to toe. She attended the Lutheran Church in San Angelo and Brownwood. She was also a member of Tom Green County’s Crisis Intervention Unit. Shirley loved her daughter, grandchildren, family and friends dearly.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sarah Varner; grandchildren, McKinlee Varner and Kannon Mathews; siblings, Betty Jean Huggins, Vernon Lyle Prytz Jr., and Esther Hildur Felsberg. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Christy LeAnn Haile, and Jeffery David Haile; and her sister, Susan Prytz Boland.
