SALADO – The Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4-A No. 20 Brownwood Lady Lions were dealt their first District 5-4A loss, and just their second setback of the season, as they came up short Wednesday night against the No. 2 Salado Lady Eagles, 2-1.
In a game that was postponed a day due to thunderstorms, Molly Oliver contributed the lone Brownwood (8-2-1, 2-1) goal against Salado (16-1, 3-0).
The opponent was the third-ranked foe Brownwood has faced this season, defeating No. 7 Burnet and then No. 21-ranked China Spring this past Saturday. Brownwood faces its fourth ranked foe at 5:30 p.m. Friday at No. 4 Stephenville as 5-4A action continues.
