Brownwood Man Charged With Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child

Bond has been set at $100,000 on a man accused of sexual abuse of a child.

According to a press release from the Brownwood Police Department:

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, at approximately 11:50 am, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Main Street regarding a report of juveniles playing in the roadway.  Information gathered at the scene led officers to believe that some sort of abuse was occurring between a juvenile and an adult male.

Criminal Investigators with the Brownwood Police Department were contacted and an investigation began.  During the investigation, Curtis Wayne Harrison, 66 of Brownwood, was identified as the suspect. Harrison was arrested on unrelated warrants.

On Monday, December 19, the investigation continued, interviews were conducted, and a warrant was obtained for Harrison for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child under the age of 14.  Harrison met with investigators and was served the warrant, then returned to the Brown County Jail, with a bond set at $100,000.
