Sales Tax Report Shows Positive Numbers in Brown County

All three Brown County cities had increases in sales tax allocations from the Texas Comptroller in December.  Early again led the way with the largest percentage increase, followed by a nice increase for Brownwood, and a smaller, but still positive increase, for Bangs.  The December sales tax allocations reflect retail sales in October.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $556,485 in December, an increase of 13.73% over December 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date (October-November-December 2022) Brownwood has received $1,738,913, up 6.90% over the previous fiscal year.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $184,898 in December, an increase of 13.99% over December 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $564,896, up 7.15% over the previous fiscal year.

EARLY

The City of Early received $272,886 in December, an increase of 59.96% over December 2021.  Fiscal Year-to-date Early has received $722,253, up 34.13% over the previous fiscal year.

The Early Municipal Development District received $90,071 in December, an increase of 60.12% over December 2021.  Fiscal Year-to-date the Early MDD has received $235,457, up 33.91% over the previous fiscal year.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $16,916 in December, an increase of 1.69% over December 2021.  Fiscal Year-to-date Bangs has received $62,911, up 9.01 over the previous fiscal year.

The Bangs Municipal Development Authority District received $2,750 in December, an increase of 6.42% over December 2021.  Fiscal Year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $9,758, up 13.31% over the previous fiscal year.
