Larry Bartley,77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 31,2022.

Larry was born in Hamilton, Texas on June 23, 1945, to Newman Bartley and Waunell Tucker. Shortly after graduating, he served in the United States Army.  Larry married his wife, Linda (Sutherland) Bartley, of 49 years on August 30, 1973, in Brownwood, Texas.

Larry lived in Brown County for 77 years. He was a member of the Early Chamber of Commerce and served on the Child Welfare Board.  He enjoyed being involved in his community.  Those that knew Larry knew he had a passion for traveling.  While traveling, he would explore new restaurants and try different foods. Larry had a love for music. He also was a collector.  He didn’t just collect one thing. Larry would collect any and everything that he found to be unique and unusual.  His other hobbies included photography, graphic arts, carpentry, tinkering, and fixing things. Larry was a great man that will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Larry is survived in death by his wife, Linda Bartley of Brownwood, Tx, his daughters, Brooke Rushing of Lubbock, TX and Alisha Newton and husband Evan Newton of Early, TX. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Macy Newton, Andrew Newton, Owen Newton, Bryleigh Rushing, and Alyse Rushing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Newman Bartley and Waunell Tucker.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 2 pm-4 pm at the Early Event Center in Early, Texas.
